Girls U16

Newtown 3, Thomaston 2 – Jacqui Kirol scored in the final seconds to give Newtown the victory. Harriet Morgan scored two goals while Christy Attanasio, Andie Maret and Meghan Barber defended well and consistently turned away the Thomaston attack. Shaina Musco and Cait Coster played well at midfield.

Newtown 6, Shepaug 2 – Marissa Bobkowski scored a key goal while Harriet Morgan and Jacqui Kirol combined for the other five goals to lead Newtown. Kendra O’Connor, Erica Federman and Libby Maret controlled the midfield with great passing. Meaghan Brophy made some key saves to shut out Shepaug in the second half and Jackie Petrasanta was outstanding on defense.

Girls U14

Hurricanes 0, Watertown 0 – Jen Brewer, Cara Colacurcio, Emily Weber and Adelle Cerreta anchored a tough defense and led the Hurricanes to the draw. Kelly Sullivan and Sarah Feinstein had solid shots on goal while Sarah Shannon excelled on offense. Emily Kluga recorded the shutout in goal.

Boys U13

Newtown 2, Danbury 1 – Adam Buccino and Matt Baier scored to lift Newtown to the win. Xhulio Halili, Ben Mahony, and Andy Lapple were outstanding on defense as Chris McCann, Kyle Kromberg, Dan Greenwood, and George Zaruba played well in the midfield.

Girls U12

Roadrunners 3, Watertown 1 – Kaitlin Brophy scored three goals as the Roadrunners snapped defending league champion Watertown’s 10-match winning streak. KellyAnne Brophy and Lauren Meyer notched assists. Sarah Attanasio, Kelly O’Connor and Ali Pliszka were outstanding as Kristin Stoller and Emma Kingsley has solid games at midfield.

Roadrunners 1, New Milford 0 – Alex Israel scored the lone goal off an assist from Lauren Meyer to lift Newtown to the win. Casey Rutter recorded the shutout in goal as Becca Jaroszewski was great at midfield. Shannon Paproski and Becca Castegner supplied the offensive pressure.

Boys U12

South Central 5, Strikers 0 – Max Brazo, Tony Vacaro and Josh Engler played well on defense while Ryan Pasko never gave up in midfield in the Glastonbury Spring Warm-Up Tournament. Aaron Nezvesky, Nicolas Wright and Daniel Hufziger helped power the offense but the Strikers fell.

Strikers 3, Maine Metro FC 3 – Daniel Lynch, Kyle Moore and Eric Thornberg scored the goals to tie Maine Metro. Alex Miller and Michael Carrafiello provided assists. Michael Gould and Ishan Tatake played well while Kyle Wildman had great saves in the goal.

Strikers 1, Maine Coastal United 1 – Daniel Lynch scored the lone Newtown goal. Strong offensive support came from Daniel Hufziger, Kyle Moore and Alex Miller. Josh Engler, Max Brazo and Tony Vacaro were tough on defense while Ishan Tatake did a great job in the goal.

World Class Tottenham 5, Strikers 1 – Eric Thornberg scored the lone Newtown goal in the loss. Strong offensive support came from Nicolas Wright, Aaron Nezvesky and Michael Gould while Michael Carrafiello, Ryan Pasko and Kyle Wildman all played well.

Girls U11

Power 1, Connecticut FC Galaxy 1 – Katherine Scott scored the lone Newtown goal off an assist from Cristina Naldini in the 12th annual Glastonbury Hartwell Spring Warm-Up Tournament.

Power 3, Middletown Magic 1 – Cristina Naldini, Ali Korchman and Christina Caporale all scored to lift the Power to the win. Naldini and Kelley Gaston notched assists while Kendall Svanda played well in goal.

Power 2, Glastonbury Avalanche 1 – Jessica Jowdy and Meaghan Carney had goals for Newtown with assists from Cristina Naldini and Maddie Keane. Newtown saw strong play on defense from Cassie Fallon, Brooke Leifels and Abbie Keough. Molly Mahony, Nora Murphy and Allie Fuentes played well up front.

Boys U11

Crusaders 3, Brookfield 1 – Adam Ellison, Conrad Normann and Hank Helgren scored the three goals with offensive support from Jason Marks and John Imbimbo. Travis LeBlanc and Andre Cappoziello were tough in the midfield. Austin Puleri was solid in the net.

Boys U10

Cobras 4, New Milford 1 – Pieter Martino, Chris Erikson and Eric Fiore dominated the play and led the Cobras to the win.  Christian Mather and Andrew Kelley had solid play throughout the entire game as  Nick Barreto (two assists), Keegan Lombard, Connor Quinn and Francis Saraceni all scored.

Cobras 7, Danbury 0 – Connor Quinn scored four goals to power the rout. Dan Bittman netted one and Christian Mather added two – one assisted by Stephen Conway. Noah Sock, Keegan Lombard and Andrew Kelley anchored the defense as goaltenders Matt Rahtelli and Sean Elliott combined for the shutout.

IN-TOWN

Girls U14

Rip Tide 4, Turkeys 1 – Megan McGowan, Jillian Spies, Alanna Gilbert and Maura Gissen all scored to lead the Tide to the win. Megan Condon had a great game at midfield. For the Turkeys, Erica Woloszynski scored in the second half as Rachel Cox did a great job in goal and Tori Boushell played solid D.

Rapids 4, Huskies 1 – Ashley Leifels, Audra Sarna, Jillian Thompson and Kaitlin Marsden scored goals to lead the Rapids to the win. Meredith LaPerch and Anna Marie Unschuld played well. For the Huskies, Becky Whitney scored while Kristen Tassinani, Caroline Lawrence, Sarah McMahon and Isabel Gleason had fine performances.

Girls U10

Blaze 4, Firefeet 0 – Justina Paproski scored a pair of goals while Amy Martin and Rachael Gregoire added one apiece to lead the Blaze to the win. Nicole Rothenbucher and Danielle Kucky played well in goal and Kayla O’Leary and Rachel Karnoff played well in the field for the Firefeet.

Metrostars 2, Fireballs 0 – Celeste Cheung and Courtney Beckett scored to lead the ‘Stars to the win. Sidney Hutchinson was solid in goal and Courtney Yapp played aggressive defense all game. For the Fireballs, Rachel Wiberg, Courtney Campbell and Brittany Heck all played well.

Mighty Tigers 1, Crusaders 1 – Alyssa Finkenstadt scored for the Tigers as Taylor Brady and Alexa Powell played well on offense. Emily Ashbolt was solid in goal. For the Crusaders, Sally Martinelli, Sarah Hasselberger and Zoe Eggleston had great games and Kelsey Karp scored the goal.

Girls U8

Shooting Stars 5, Panthers 2 – Brooke Newtown scored three goals and Meg Korchman added two to lead the Stars to the win. Meaghan Brophy and Erin Bernardi played well on defense. For the Panthers, Angela Halili knocked in two goals as Olivia Korth, Amanda Crowell and Taylor Lafave played solid defense.

Huskies 2, Shockers 1 – Portia Baudisch and Samantha Cannavo each scored a goal to lead the Huskies. Tonya Tucker and Jenna Hansen played well on defense. Kate Fallon scored for the Shockers while Megan Meyer assisted on offense. Kacey Caplan played great defense along with Katherine Clark.

Boys U8

Huskies 1, Dragons 0 – Stephen Walsh scored the lone goal to lead the Huskies. Jared Brady and Nathan Horvath played excellent defense and Michael Stierle was great in goal. For the Dragons, Alex Beauchemin and Kevin Ovendorf sparked the offense while Deegan Beauchemin anchored the D. Brandon Rodriguez had some great stops while in the goal.

Strikers 5, Wolverines 1 – Mustafa Sakhi scored a pair of goals to lead the Strikers. Mohammed Sakhi and Dillon Palumbo played well. For the Wolverines, Adam Hufziger scored the goal as Arnav Singh and Michael Alicea played well.

Tigers 3, Blue Thunder 3 – Sawyer Conrad, Harry Solaski, and Connor Roche each had goals as Chris Zakur was strong in goal for Blue Thunder. Daniel Hamula was huge in goal while Wesley Morlock, Jonathan Schwartz, and Austin Raftery each had goals for the Tigers.

Bulldogs 1, Golden Hawks 0 – Ryan McFarland scored the lone goal to lead the Bulldogs to the win. Michael Cook and Knute Johnson played well on defense and Will Swain played a fine all around game. For the Golden Hawks, Akshay Delity and Thomas Meier were solid on defense and Mathew Jenco played well in goal.
