What was the first car you ever bought? Asked at the Sandy Hook Diner.

Jack Rankin: “1970 Chevy Vega. It was cheap. It had an aluminum engine.”

Fr Bob Weiss: “1971 Plymouth Duster. I loved that car. It was a great car, slant six engine, white with green interior.”

Sharon Baldwin: “1962 Chevy. It started without the key. It had a huge steering wheel and ran great through floodwater.”

Ed Baldwin: “1961 Dodge Lancer. I bought it for $375. It was a great little car. You couldn’t buy a car today for that amount of money that would run like it did.”

Eric Wilson: “1985 Plymouth Tourismo. It was gold. I drove it in high school. It turned 102K and died. The transmission went.”

Dawn Coughlin with Jessie: “1984 Mazda RX-7. Baby blue. Four weeks after I bought it, it was stolen. They never found it, but I have pictures.”
