Peter Paul Candy Company

NAUGATUCK — “The Story of the Peter Paul Candy Company in Naugatuck” will be the subject of a lecture by town historian Sandra Clark to be presented Wednesday, January 21, at 6:30 pm, at the Naugatuck Historical Society (NHS).

The presentation will include the story of the founding of the company in the early 1900s by Peter Paul Halijian and several other Armenian immigrants, Cal Kazanjian, George Shamlian, Artin Kazanjian, Jacob Choulian and Jacob Hagopian. Rare vintage footage of the assembly line at Peter Paul will be shown. The footage was taken by Ron Gagliardi in the 1980s. Portraits of the founders will be on exhibit.

Admission is free and open to the public.
