Protecting & Caring For Fine Jewelry

DANBURY — Danbury Library will host a talk and book signing by Joe Brandt, author of Protecting the Family Jewels: How to Protect Your Jewelry for Now, and for the Future, on Saturday, February 21, beginning at 2 pm.

The 90-minute program will cover the basic facts people need to know about caring for their fine jewelry. Mr Brandt will talk  about home security measures, the proper care of fine jewelry, general options for selling, what to look for – and look out for – when buying fine jewelry, insurance guidelines, and intelligent estate planning.  Mr Brandt will also answer audience questions, and copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing.

Those planning to attend show note that this is an informational talk only, not an appraisal clinic. Do not bring jewelry to the program and jewelry will be not be bought or sold.

Joe Brandt has close to 40 years of experience in the jewelry industry. His company, J.L. Brandt Co., Inc., dates back to 1928, and had been primarily involved in jewelry manufacturing for more than 60 years as well as wholesale distribution of diamonds, colored stones and pearls. The firm currently functions as a consultant to retail jewelers, and provides advisory serves to the public.

The program is offered free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
