*KENN MORR, a master of musical metaphor, will be the guest performer Friday night at Mocha Coffee House. Saturday’s headliner will be rising singer-songwriter HOWARD JENNINGS, who has been called a “young, new generation Dave Matthews.”

Both shows begin at 8 at 3 Glen Road, and admission is free.

*To celebrate their 40th anniversary, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND is hitting the road, and will be stopping at New England Dodge Music Center in Hartford on Sunday, August 30, with Widespread Panic supporting.

This US celebratory year-long tour follows the band’s annual March residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre where the rock and roll icons performed 101 songs in 15 nights with an impressive list of special guests featuring Eric Clapton, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh of the Dead, Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell of Phish, John Bell and Jimmy Herring of Widespread Panic, Sheryl Crow, Billy Gibbons, Kid Rock, Bruce Hornsby, and Levon Helm, among many others.

I don’t think this is a new announcement, that the show is coming, but the promoters sent out a reminder about it last week while I was on vacation and I thought I’d share a reminder with you folks. Tickets are $25 for the lawn, and range from $25 to $65 for the reserved seats. Prices in all categories will increase by $5 on the day of the show. Visit LiveNation.com for tickets.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.
