Local Band Competition

Scheduled For September 12

Bethel’s “Quest for the Best” Marching Band Competition is scheduled for Saturday, September 12. The event, which will include the Newtown High School Marching Band and Color Guard and 11 other local marching bands and color guards from Connecticut and New York, will have the different groups display their talents on Bethel High School’s athletic field.

The event begins at 5 pm at the school, and is open for spectators.

“These high school bands and color guards work together, through many hours of practice, to put on a show that sounds great and looks great. It’s an exciting event that gives the students a chance to show the community how hard they have been working on their music and marching skills,” said Damon Coachman, Bethel High School’s Band Director. “It’s something the whole family can enjoy.”

Refreshments will be available throughout the event, and a 50-50 raffle will also be held. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information, contact Caroline LaFleur at 743-5599 or 482-1744.
