Military Museum Collecting Gifts For Veterans

DANBURY — The Military Museum of Southern Museum, 127 Park Avenue, is a drop-off point for items being collected for veterans recuperating at The Veterans Home & Hospital in Rocky Hill.

Until December 20, the public is invited to make the holidays better ones by donating gifts that will be delivered this month. Suggested gifts include men’s clothing, reading glasses, AA and AAA batteries, DVD movies, sports or military apparel and memorabilia, board games, books, paint by numbers, and shaving kits. Gift certificates are also appreciated.

Monetary donations may also be dropped off or mailed to the museum. Checks should be made payable to Connecticut Department of Veteran’s Affairs/Secret Santa Program.

The museum’s winter hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 1 to 5 pm; call 203-790-9277.
