Paul Turner Caulkins, 73, of Woodbury, died March 7, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the son of the Adelaide (Jorgensen) Caulkins and Curtis Caulkins.
Mr Caulkins was born May 5, 1936, in Bridgeport. He and his wife, Barbara, moved to Woodbury in 2001 after residing in Newtown for 37 years.
In 1955 he graduated from Bullard Havens Technical High School, then served in the Army for three years. He then became an employee of The United Illuminating Company, retiring as a lineman in 1995 after 36 years of dedicated service.
Mr Caulkins enjoyed working on his home, repairing cars and tractors, and camping. He spent his last 11 summers camping on the beach at Misquamicut, R.I., where he enjoyed being with his friends and family. He also enjoyed playing cards at Woodbury Senior Center with friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Barbara (Kent) Caulkins; a son, Bruce Caulkins of Oxford; a daughter, Lynn Telesco and son-in law, John, of Southbury; two grandchildren, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 13, at 1 pm, at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 am until the time of service.
