Cross Country State Open Highlights

In the State Open boys’ cross country championship race at Wickham Park in Manchester on November 5, Newtown High School’s boys’ team placed 12th among 21 schools.

Newtown had 294 points; first-place Tolland had 111.

Newtown’s top finisher was Jake Feinstein, who finished in 19th-place among 186 runners in a time of 16:37.

The NHS girls did not compete as a team but had a strong individual performance from Anne Martino, who placed 33rd among 188 runners, completing the course in 20:10.
