Ernest Oswald, 93, of Heritage Village, Southbury, died January 29. A native of Jabing, Austria, he was the son of Victor and Helen Oswald.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Theresa; and two sons, including Frederick and his wife, Linda, of Sandy Hook; and three grandchildren.

Mr Oswald came to the United States at the age of 19 and worked for Schraffts and Dainty Cookie Company of Palisades, N.J., before retiring.

He was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Mr Oswald was a kind and generous man and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, with a witty sense of humor.

A mass of Christian Burial was held on February 2.
