Coping With "Holiday Blues"
Coping With âHoliday Bluesâ
âHoliday Bluesâ will be discussed on Wednesday, December 13, at a free workshop sponsored by the Family Counseling Center at the Cyrenius H. Booth Libraryâs community room from 7 to 8 pm.
The holidays are supposed to be a time of warmth, happiness, and excitement. For many people, they are. But for some, the season can be a paradox. Joyous feelings, and family and religious traditions can be overshadowed by stress, fatigue, and gloom. The key is to know how to respond to your feelings and have realistic expectations.
Peggy Grimes, LCSW, DCSW, will lead the workshop and give tips on coping with the holiday blues. She invites anyone experiencing difficulty in getting through the holidays to attend.
The program is one of a series of free monthly workshops on mental health issues of interest to families and individuals. These workshops are supported by a grant from the Union Savings Bank Foundation.
The Family Counseling Center is a licensed, accredited non-profit mental health agency located on Mt Pleasant Road in Newtown. There is no charge for the program at the library. For more information, call the FCC at 426-8103.
