Arthur J. Pretty

Arthur J. Pretty, 78, husband of the late Evelyn (Greene) Pretty of Pond Brook Road, Newtown, died Thursday, September 30, in Danbury Hospital.

Mr Pretty was born in Woodstock, VT, August 2, 1921, a son of the late Edgar and Sylvia (Buck) Pretty. A resident of Newtown since 1963, he was employed as a stone mason at Fairfield Hills Hospital for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company.

Mr Pretty is survived by a son, James A. Pretty of Maiden, N.C.; two daughters, Carol Kent and Lorraine Wedge, both of New Milford; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held October 4 in the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield, 103 Main St, Ridgefield. Burial, in Mapleshade Cemetery, Ridgefield,  will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements were made by  the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
