One Man’s Story Of The Civil War

SOUTHBURY — In the one-person mini-drama The Civil War & Company C – One Soldier’s Story, the historical dramatist Bud Jenkyns brings First Sergeant William Ivan Jenkyns back to life.

Mr Jenkyns will be presenting his production on Wednesday, July 19, at 7:15 pm, at East Hill Woods, 611 East Hill Road.

Mr Jenkyns’ re-enactment is done in period costume and tells the story of his direct ancestor during the Civil War. His father’s family came to Colorado in 1880 from Wisconsin, where they had lived for a generation after emigrating from Essex, England. His mother’s family came from Switzerland and participated in the American Revolution.

Mr Jenkyns has performed more than 17,000 shows in 28 states. Each performance is a one-hour monologue that is not scripted.

Mr Jenkyns has six other historical characters in his repertoire and performs at historical societies, dinner theaters, church groups, and various organizations across the country.

All ages are welcome. For additional information, call 262-6161.
