Celebrating Who We Are

To the Editor:

I have studied, and loved, history my whole life. But no encounter in books, letters, castles, battlefields, and old ships ever brought me closer to our friends from the past than the Tercentennial “Newtown Notables Gone But Not Forgotten” event in the cemetery on May 14.  I never once doubted that the people speaking beside their graves existed then, now, and forever.

My thanks to all who dreamed up and produced a perfect celebration of who we are.
