Scholarships Available At Newtown High School

Fairfield County Farm Bureau Association, Inc ââ A $1,000 award will be presented to a deserving Fairfield County young person age 16â25 who is involved in various aspects of agriculture. The applicants are requested to attend the annual Fairfield County Farm Bureau meeting in October. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 15.
The Fred Davidson Memorial Scholarship Fund ââ For high school seniors who are residents of Newtown and continuing their education after high school (colleges, universities, technical/professional schools, etc); who are or have been a participant in the Newtown Soccer Club and plan to contribute in some manner to the advancement of soccer in Newtown in the future; and demonstrate personal qualities deserving of this award. Applications are due April 21.
Town and Country Garden Club ââ A one-time scholarship of $400 will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to study in the fields of environmental science, turf management, forestry, or horticulture. Application is due in the Career Center by April 4.
The Delta Kappa Gamma â Elizabeth Sonier Grant ââ $750 will be awarded to a graduating senior who is planning to major in music education. This grant is renewable. Completed applications are due to Mrs McEvoy in the Career Center no later than March 24.
The Delta Kappa Gamma â Hannah Griswold Grant ââ $750 will be awarded to a graduating minority senior who is planning to major in education. This grant is renewable. Completed applications are due to Mrs McEvoy in the Career Center no later than March 24.
The Visiting Nurse Association of Newtown, Inc. â is offering a $4,000 scholarship to a Newtown resident student entering a nursing program giving an R.N. or a B.S.N. The $4,000 will be awarded when the recipient has entered the clinical portion of the nursing program. Financial need, scholarship ability, personality and recommendation are all considered. Interviews will be held on April 24, 2003 at 9 am in the Career Center. Please return the application to the Career Center by April 10.Â
