Program On Preventing Cancer

TRUMBULL — A panel of Bridgeport Hospital experts will explain how eating right, managing weight, and other healthy habits can reduce the risk of cancer at a free program, “You Can Protect Yourself Against Cancer!,” 7 pm, Wednesday, November 19, at the Trumbull Marriott.

The program is being presented in collaboration with the American Cancer Society. To register, call toll free 888-357-2396.

“More than a third of all cancers can be prevented by good health habits, and most other forms of cancer can be cured if caught early,” said Dr Robert Folman, Bridgeport Hospital’s chief of medical oncology and one of the speakers at the November 19 program.

Joining Dr Folman will be Dr Alan Kaye, the hospital’s chairman of radiology, and registered dietitian Christina Sachin. The panel will also describe how new tools and techniques allow earlier detection of cancer.
