Women To Share Stories Of Military

NEW BRITAIN — Female veterans from World War II through the Persian Gulf War will chronicle their experiences in the United States military during an upcoming program at Central Connecticut State University on July 15.

Once excluded entirely from the armed services, women in the military have become more visible in recent years, especially during the recent engagements in the Middle East. This program will explore the expanding role that women have experienced in the armed forces, touching on the variety of contributions they have made over the years.

The panel discussion is a collaborative effort between the Litchfield Historical Society and CCSU’s history department.

“Women at War: A Panel Discussion” will take place in the CCSU Student Center in New Britain, at 3 pm on Thursday, July 15. The event is free and open to the public. Call the Litchfield Historical Society at 860-567-4501 for information.
