Library Program—

Avoid Heartbreak With Digital Files

Dan Tannenbaum of Newtown Computer and Financial Services in Sandy Hook will be teaching a Computer Specialty Class on Saturday, December 10, in the Booth Library Public Meeting Room from 9 am to noon.

The class is free and open to anyone who has made a reservation to attend by calling the library at 426-4533 in advance of that date.

“We’re going to try to help people who are having difficulty with losing files, especially photos of holidays or other important family get-togethers taken with their digital cameras. We’ve had people come in and they ask for help retrieving these special pictures –– and we can’t help them. It’s a devastating experience when that happens, and there are ways to guard against it,” Mr Tannenbaum said.

During the three-hour session, several topics will be covered. These include CD burning and back-ups, digital photography and your PC, and online shopping safety. It is suggested that anyone attending should have minimum computer skills in order to benefit from the instruction.
