Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation Hosts Pets & Vets 101
The Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation (CVHF) welcomed 130 people to its latest Sunday at the Sanctuary event, called “Pets & Vets 101,” at Fraser Woods Montessori School, on January 27.
Animal lovers of all ages got to be up close and personal with chickens, rabbits, goats, a llama, a pig, a chinchilla, a snake, a box turtle, and a bearded dragon, as well as adoptable animals from Because 4 Paws.
Veterinarians from Cornell Veterinary Medicine taught attendees about how to care for dogs and cats, while representatives from Rowanwood Farm in Newtown and Kimberly McClure Brinton of Country Companions Veterinary Service LLC shared how to care for backyard farm animals. Naturalists from Earthplace of Westport were also onsite to help educate people on what animals may or may not be appropriate to have as an alternative pet.
Make sure to visit the CVHF’s next Sunday at the Sanctuary event, called “Waking Winter Wildlife.” The free workshop will take place Sunday, February 10, at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane.
