Practice Fax Voting From Home
Practice Fax Voting From Home
The Newtown Registrars of Voters, in cooperation with the Secretary of the Stateâs office, is offering voters who plan to use fax voting at their polling place on Election Day an opportunity to practice on the system from home.
âThis is not voting from home,â said Democratic Registrar LeReine Frampton. âYou must come and vote at the polls for your vote to be counted. But voters can practice from home so they donât feel rushed or confused once they get to the polls November 6.â
Any voter who wants to practice on this alternate voting system, designed to help individuals who might otherwise be challenged by the new paper ballot and optical scanning system, may do so by first calling the Preview and Practice hotline toll-free at 1-866-494-8683.
Then, voters must enter the access code matching the Newtown voting district where they reside. District 1 voters enter code 0495; District 2 voters enter code 0496; District 3 voters enter code 0497; and District 3-2 voters enter code 0498.
âThis is practice only,â Ms Frampton warned, âactual votes can only be cast at the polls on Election Day.â
