SHORTIES BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART (BMA) BONNARD & VUILLARD

ak/gs set 3/6 #730898

BALTIMORE, MD. — An intimate two-gallery exhibition, “Bonnard & Vuillard,” will feature works on paper and paintings by two of the most experimental artists at the turn of the Nineteenth Century, Pierre Bonnard (1867–1947) and Edouard Vuillard (1868–1940).

On view from April 23 to August 10, and drawn entirely from the Baltimore Museum of Art’s (BMA) rich collection of late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century French art. The exhibition includes five paintings, three drawings and more than 30 lithographs, etchings, posters and illustrated books. It traces the change in style for both artists as they evolve from a late Nineteenth Century interest in everyday life to a colorful exploration of domestic life in intimate interiors through the 1920s and 30s.

The exhibition is curated by Katy Rothkopf, BMA curator of European painting and sculpture at the BMA.

The BMA is at 10 Art Museum Drive. For information, www.artbma.org or 443-573-1870.
