‘LOCALLY GROWN’ CELEBRATES DECADE OF ART CULTURE AT ALBANY’S AIRPORT

avv/gs set 5/7 #738600

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Albany International Airport Gallery presents the exhibition “Locally Grown,” through September 7. The new exhibition is in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Albany International Airport’s art and culture program.

Twenty-two artists were chosen to recollect not only the past exhibitions that they have participated in at Albany International Airport, but to reflect the distinction that they lend to the region as a destination for the arts.

“Locally Grown” is the airport gallery’s 24th exhibition since opening in 1998, and with it the art and culture program marks a decade of presenting and fostering the arts of New York State’s Capital region. Throughout its history, the program has sought to curate exhibitions that are wide-ranging in thematic content and appeal, provide a rewarding experience for people of all ages and backgrounds, and adhere to the highest artistic and professional gallery standards.

The art and culture program will host an anniversary party and opening reception for “Locally Grown” Friday, May 16, from 5:30 to 9 pm, in the Albany International Airport Gallery, third floor of the airport terminal, before the security checkpoint.

Featured artists include Jeanette Fintz, Scott Brodie, Terry Conrad, John Hanson, Paul Katz, Gina Occhiogrosso, Edward Mayer, Karin Stack, Laura Von Rosk and Deborah Zlotsky.
