Gratitude And Remembrance
Gratitude And Remembrance
To the Editor:
On behalf of The Newtown Womanâs Club, I would like to extend a heartfelt âthank youâ to all who responded to our appeal for the âValentines for Veteransâ project.
The response was overwhelming, not only from the private citizens but organized groups as well. The cards expressed appreciation for our veteransâ service to our country and their commitment and sacrifice to preserving our freedoms. The Religious Education classes at St Rose and The Fraser-Woods School participated as well the Interact Club at Reed Intermediate School and other public school classes. The Girl Scouts and Brownie troops in town made beautiful cards. Girl Scout Troop 166 contributed specially wrapped candy âKisses for the Vetsâ and Brownie Troop 1135 donated bags of candy and other goodies.
Over 1,200 cards and treats were delivered to our Connecticut veterans in time for Valentineâs Day to let them know they are appreciated and not forgotten.
Very truly yours,
Barbara Krausz
