*Redding resident David Kaye has begun a weekly night of bluegrass to be enjoyed by anyone who visits My Place Restaurant. David dropped me a note last week to tell me about his series, which alternates with STRING FINGERS on the first and third weeks of each month (and fifth, when applicable), and LOST DOG performing the second and fourth weeks.
Music starts at 8:30 and thee is no cover charge. Bands set up in the bar area of the 8 Queen Street restaurant.
David plans to occasionally feature other local bands, and hopefully weâll hear from him in plenty of time to let you know about them here as well.
*Apologies for not mentioning this sooner, but the BACHMAN-TURNER show scheduled for August 28 at Ives Concert Park in Danbury has been canceled. I donât know when this happened, but noticed the cancellation while checking for something else on the venueâs website this week.
Had someone at the park sent out a press release about this, I would have let you guys know about this sooner. If youâve purchased tickets for this show you should have been contacted about refund information via email by now.
If you havenât heard anything about this and you have tickets, try calling 866-558-4253. That seems to be one of the few numbers that will put you in touch with a person rather than an outdated recording.
*Meanwhile, tickets for an early Halloween show by shock-rock stalwarts ROB ZOMBIE & ALICE COOPER at Mohegan Sun Arena will be on sale Friday, August 13, at 10 am.
The Halloween Hootenanny Tour arrives on Friday, October 15, with special guests Murderdolls opening.
Tickets are $45 and will be available through TicketMaster outlets. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun box office starting Saturday morning at 10 subject to availability.
Until next week, Iâll be seeing you⦠on the road.
