Diving Medicine Conference Planned
DANBURY â Danbury Hospital will host a free diving medicine conference on Saturday, April 2. It will run from 8:30 to 11:30 am in the Creasy Auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue.
Guest speakers and their topics will include Nicholas Bird, MD, chief medical officer for Divers Alert Network, who will offer a review of diving hospital physics and common diving emergencies; Charles A. Mckay Jr, MD, vice chairman of Connecticut Poison Control Center at Hartford Hospital, with an overview of marine envenomation; and David Charash, DO, Department of Emergency Medicine, Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine at Danbury Hospital, with an assessment of diving medical fitness.
Recreational and technical divers, as well as medical providers who care for divers, physicians, APRNs, Pas, EMTs and paramedics are all invited.
The course will provide accreditation of 3.5 hours for Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME).
