Prisoner Arrested Following Garner Incident
State police report that they served an arrest warrant against a former Garner Correctional Institution prisoner on the morning of January 5 at Danbury Superior Court.
State police said they arrested Robert Dowling, 45, on a charge of making a false statement in the second degree. That charge stems from an incident that occurred on August 25 at Garner, when Dowling was an inmate at that high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.
Dowling was arraigned in court on the false statement charge on January 5. He is scheduled to return to court on January 26.
Dowling currently is imprisoned at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield where he is being held on $650,000 bail while awaiting trial in Manchester Superior Court on various pending charges.
