Celebrate St Joseph's Feast
Celebrate St Josephâs Feast
The St Joseph Project at St Rose Church exists to support the parishâs ministry for those in need with respect to housing issues. The project has worked continuously to raise funds in support of its mission, which has helped a number of people find housing when they have a financial crisis, when a new landlord needs a good tenant, when single men and women need affordable housing, and other situations. The project has even helped pay for a grave for a homeless man.
To celebrate St Josephâs Day, the St Rose St Joseph Project Ministry is planning a St Josephâs Feast and all are invited. On Sunday, March 18, a Holy Mass in honor of St Joseph will be conducted at noon at the church, 46 Church Hill Road. Traditional food will then be served in the church hall, around 1 pm.
Admission is a freewill donation, but reservations are requested. All donations will help the project with its continued efforts.
âWe need to know how many people are coming so that we can plan for the dinner,â said Queta Donovan, chairperson of The St Joseph Project.
The feast menu will offer choices for each of the four courses: azunta minestrone soup or Italian pasta fagioli or green salad for the first course; St George baked ziti or Romani rigatoni al burro e parmigiano for the second course; traditional St Joseph meat loaf or chicken a la Travertine for the entrée; and St Joseph anisette cookies, chocolate chip cookies or Matha Washingtonâs applejack walnut cake for dessert. Beverages including sangria, water, aqua de limone; coffee and tea will also be served.
For reservations or additional information call Ms Donovan at 203-426-2153 or send an e-mail to AveMariaPurisima@snet.net.
