On behalf of the Newtown Historical Society, we would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers, committee members, homeowners, and residents for making this year’s 17

th

Annual Newtown House and Garden Tour a success.  We are very grateful to the community for attending our primary annual fundraiser and supporting our mission to preserve Newtown history.

We would like to extend a special thanks to our homeowners for opening their beautiful homes to the public and offering their hospitality to visitors including Knettie and Flip Archard, Cristina and Derek Arnold, Sandy Kuzmich and Greg Sideleau, Ellen Aho and Tim Shearin, Nancy Taylor and Mark Fries, and Kim Verdreis and Jeff Hanke.

The society would also like to thank the dedicated and hardworking committee members and volunteers who organized and participated for the event. We’d like to recognize the efforts of our House and Garden Tour Committee members Dottie Evans, Mary Thomas, Ginnie Carey for preparing, coordinating and executing a wonderful event with a special thanks to Jo-Ann Schebold for planning a lovely after-tour reception for the homeowners and docents. We’re appreciative of time that Alice Cooney, Lyndon Thomas, Chris Schmidt, Michael Sepp, and Philip Kotch dedicated to directing traffic and driving and to the docents who volunteered for each home. We are also immensely grateful to Gordon Williams, House and Garden Tour Committee Chairman, for his dedication and commitment to ensuring all aspects of the event were properly planned and for his caring leadership role in engaging and equipping our volunteers and committee members.

We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of our sponsors Beth Caldwell, Lincoln Sander, Kathy Maci, UPS and Taunton Liquor for all of their support.

And finally, we thank all of those who attended our event and supported the Newtown Historical Society. We are very grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing you next year!,
