To the Editor:

I am not a veteran but was very pleased to see the coverage in The Bee of the events held at schools all over Newtown to remember and honor our veterans. It is fitting that our schools plan these activi-ties for youngsters to learn about the sacrifices that the members of our armed forces have made and continue to make in order for us all to enjoy freedom.

Great that schools were open and students had this opportunity, and great that The Bee has shared it with all of us. Thanks for another day brightener.
