South Main Crash

Police report a two-vehicle accident on South Main Street at Sand Hill Plaza about 3 pm July 20.

Police said motorist Ashley Ferro, 16, of Monroe, who was driving a 2001 GMC Jimmy northbound, approached a traffic signal and was turning left into the plaza, when the GMC collided with southbound motorist Trevor D. Link, 21, of Easton, who was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported two passengers in the GMC, Patricia Carmo, 16, of Monroe, and Hannah Kuhn, 16, of Monroe, to Danbury Hospital, police said.

Police issued Ferro an infraction ticket on charges of failure to yield and failure to carry automotive insurance.
