CPA Society Appoints Trentacosta, Kreinik To Leadership Positions
ROCKY Hill â The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) has appointed John F. Trentacosta of Sandy Hook and to Theodore H. Kreinik of Newtown leadership positions for the organizationâs 2004-05 activity year.
Mr Trentacosta, a certified public accountant, is president and treasurer of Newtown Savings Bank. He will serve as chairman of the committee that acts as a liaison between the members of the CPA society and the credit-granting financing community.
In addition to his activities with the CSCPA, Mr Trentacosta also is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a bachelorâs degree from Manhattan College and an MBA from Iona College.
Mr Kreinik is managing member of the Southbury CPA firm of Kreinik & Co., LLC. He will serve as chairman of the nonprofit foundation that positions financial support to outstanding students, accounting departments, and accounting clubs at Connecticut colleges and universities.
Previously Mr Kreinik served the CPA society as president, president-elect, and as a member of the board of governors. He has served as chairman of the CSCPA committees on nominating, strategic planning, technology, state legislation, executive, and as a member or board liaison to many other committees. He was honored with the CSCPA Annual Service Award in 1985.
In addition to his activities with the CSCPA, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public accountants and served two terms as a representative to its governing council. He also is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public accountants and is licensed as a CPA in Connecticut, New York, and Florida.
Mr Kreinik holds a bachelorâs degree from Union College and an MBA from Columbia University.
Now in its 96th year, the CSCPA has a current membership of more than 6,200 individuals in public practice, business and industry, government and education.
