Charlotte M.    Verbanic

 Charlotte M. Verbanic, 85, wife of the late John Verbanic, of 207 Sugar Street, Newtown, formerly of Norwalk, died July 18 in Danbury Hospital.

She was born in Norwalk on February 24, 1916, daughter of the late Nicholas and Clorinda (Farrell) Mandel. A retired laundry worker, she had resided in Norwalk until moving to Newtown eight years ago.

She is survived by one son, John Verbanic of Newtown; two daughters, Mary Keefe of Pelzer, S.C. and Barbara Thompson of Johnsor, Vt.; one brother, Philip Anderson of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Barbara Buckingham of Bridgeport, Ethel Dhuly of New Port Richey, Fla.; and Helen Disney of Tampa, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, at 9:30 am, from Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 10 am at St Rose Church in Newtown for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St John Cemetery, Norwalk.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm.
