‘Steel Magnolias’ Coming To Sherman Playhouse

SHERMAN — Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling will open September 13, in dress rehearsal and will run Friday and Saturday nights at 8 pm until October 6 at the Sherman Playhouse, at the intersection of routes 37 and 39 behind Sherman Firehouse.

Revolving around Truvy’s Beauty Parlor in a small parish in modern-day Louisiana, Steel Magnolias is the story of a close-knit circle of friends whose lives come together there. Filled with humor and heartbeak, these “Steel Magnolias” make us laugh and cry as the realities of their lives in tiny Chiquapin Parish unfolds.

Craig David Rosen, of theater and film fame, will direct Steel Magnolias. The production will star Katherine Almquist, Ellen Burnett, Rachel Corn, Lori Franzese, Bianca Harlacher, Annie Muoio, and Tom Sheehan.

Barbara Rogers of New Fairfield is the producer.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens and students.
