Not The Source Of Complaints

To the Editor:

I was personally surprised and saddened to learn of the suspension of Carolee Mason as animal control officer for the Town of Newtown. And, I was equally surprised to have been mentioned as an individual who filed a complaint in this matter.

To set the record straight, I did not call or file a complaint about Carolee Mason with regard to her position as animal control officer for the Town of Newtown, neither with any Town of Newtown officials nor with its police department. Nor did I ever speak with the police chief about Carolee Mason regarding its investigation.

Over the years I have worked harmoniously with the staff at the Newtown Pound and have adopted two cats and a dog from that facility. I have spent the last 30 years as an animal care professional and I will continue to keep the welfare of the pets of Newtown as my goal.
