South Main Accident
Police report a two-car accident near 71 South Main Street about 4:14 pm March 8.
Northbound motorist Tisha McCoy, 44, of 5 Old Purdy Station Road, who was driving a 2003 Honda sedan, slowed for traffic conditions, police said.
Northbound motorist Michael Vu, 42, of Lindenhurst, N.Y., who was driving a 1997 Infiniti sedan directly behind the Honda, then attempted to stop, but skidded and struck the rear end of the Honda, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Vu a written warning for following too closely.
Golf Clubs Gone
Police are investigating a burglary/larceny at a Tamarack Road residence in which the only items taken were a golf bag full of various expensive golf clubs. The crime constitutes third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. Both charges are felonies.
Police said they learned on the afternoon of March 6, that someone sometime between February 22 and March 5 had illegally entered an unlocked, detached garage on the premises and stole the golf bag and golf clubs. Police recall a similar past incident having occurred on Lake Road in which the only items stolen were a golf bag and golf clubs.
Police are investigating the Tamarack Road incident and ask anyone with information about the crime to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
