Alice M. Schlierf, 82, of Ridgefield died peacefully June 4, surrounded by her children and family. She was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., September 12, 1931, to Elizabeth (Larkin) and James J.  Reilly. Mrs Schlierf and her husband, the late Frank A. Schlierf, lived in Yonkers for more than 20 years, where they raised their family.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her children Maryann Thomas McDonough, and husband Thomas, of Newtown, John Schlierf of Bethel, and James Schlierf, and wife Janine, of Ridgefield; five grandchildren; two sisters, MaryAnn Reilly and Elizabeth “Betty” Hodges; a brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, James J. and John P. Reilly; a sister, Kathleen Cottrell; and a grandson preceded her in death.

Mrs Schlierf retired from her secretarial position at Union Carbide when she began her family. Recently, she had moved to Ridgefield, where she enjoyed quiet country living.

The family wishes to thank the nursing and medical staff of Danbury Hospital for the comfort and care they provided to Mrs Schlierf before she went to be with the Lord.

A Mass took place June 7. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
