Haunted Yard Back In Business

For three years, the Haunted Yard has been missing from Newtown. Well it is back this year and it is time to make sure it is ready for mid-October when the ghosts and goblins come to play.

Rick “Socko” Mariani, who has been responsible for the event in the past, has decided to bring the Haunted Yard back with some help from the community. The Botsford Fire Company and Newtown Youth Services are helping to sponsor the yard this year.

The community can enjoy the autumn event starting October 19, 20, 21, and October 26 through October 31. The Haunted Yard will be behind the Botsford Fire House on Route 25.

Socko is looking for some willing volunteers to help set up the yard on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting at 6 pm, and in the afternoon (around 1 pm) on the weekends, he said. Anyone interested in doing community service hours is welcome to help set up the yard.
