Genealogy 101

C.H. Booth Library will host a series of Genealogy 101 programs on the first four Wednesdays in June. Each program will run 2 to 4 pm, and different subjects will be covered each week.

June 3 will be “Getting Started,” covering the basic guidelines in genealogical research.

The series will continue with “Vital, Bible, Church and Cemetery Records” on June 10, with an emphasis placed on Connecticut and Massachusetts sources;

“Census Records, City Directories and Newspapers,” on June 17, will look at the development of US Population Schedules (1790-1940), along with supplemental schedules and Social Statistics, as well as information that can be gleaned from city directories and newspapers; and

“Internet, Software and Organization,” which will conclude the series with a discussion about and search through some online sources and computer applications, on June 24.

Reservations are not needed for any of the programs., which will be presented in the meeting room.
