Newtown resident Meghan Bennett, daughter of Dennis and Joan Bennett of Newtown, was honored as a recipient of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Foundation Excellence in Leadership Award. Meghan is a junior at the university majoring in elementary education (PK-6). She is a member of the Residence Hall Council, conference chair of the No Frills Conference (the bidding and executive board for residence halls), and a member of the Platteville Early Childhood Association.
Nicholas Caruso, son of Patrick and Joanne Caruso of Sandy Hook and a freshman at Canterbury School, New Milford, has been named to the Honor Roll (high honors) for the fourth marking period of the 1999-2000 school year.
