Stephen M. Macejko, Jr (August 27, 1959-December 19, 2024)
Stephen, a longtime resident of Newtown, is survived by his wife, Kristine Macejko, and son Stephen M. Macejko III, as well as mom, Shirley Macejko of Stratford, sisters Sheila Runkis, Sandra Starr (Martin) and Stephanie Macejko, and brother-in-law John Frank (Joyce).
Stephen was born in Bridgeport, and was a graduate of Bunnell High School and Norwalk Tech. He worked in a variety of tech fields, as a teacher’s assistant and most recently as caregiver, handyman and overall superstar in charge of mom’s home.
Steve was a dedicated family man with a passion for football, cooking, gardening, hiking, computer speed competition and all manner of shenanigans. He loved to tell a joke and get everyone laughing. He recently rediscovered his passion for playing basketball and could be found at local parks and the NYA making new friends.
The family will be having a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association.
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
And stars fill my dream
I’m a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
