Morgan Wright Mead, Jr “Moose” of Southbury passed away December 31 at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury.

He was born in Norwalk on November 11, 1946, a son of the late Morgan and Emma Mead.

Morgan served in the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of several veteran organizations. Moose was a highway foreman for the Town of Lewisboro, N.Y., for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by a sister, Emma Sinistor, and her husband Clifford of Walton, N.Y.; a cousin, Carol Mitchell and her husband Floyd of Southbury; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews.

Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown, on Wednesday January 8, from 3 to 7 pm. Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery at a date and time to be announced.
