Bald Eagle Viewing Station Open

SOUTHBURY — The bald eagle viewing station at the Shepaug Dam, on the Housatonic River along River Road, has opened for the season. The station will be open daily until March 17, when the eagles will leave southern Connecticut and migrate north to their summer breeding grounds in Canada and Nova Scotia.

Reservations are mandatory and are being accepted for Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, except New Year’s Day. Admission is free, and reservations can be made Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm by calling 800-368-8954.

In order to serve as many visitors as possible, only one reservation is permitted per family per viewing season.
