Peter Aliapoulios, 61, of Redding, died Christmas morning, December 25, with his family by his side, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was born in Manchester, N.H., July 14, 1952, to Constance and Alexander Aliapoulios.

He was the beloved husband of Vickie Aliapoulios; proud father of Shari Wright, and her husband Daniel, of Newtown, Kristina Mulhall, and her husband Benjamin, of Litchfield, and Christopher Aliapoulios of Berlin; and adoring grandfather of four grandchildren. His sister Cathy Kraut and brother Charles Aliapoulios also survive Mr Aliapoulios.

Mr Aliapoulios grew up in Norwalk, and resided in Redding for the past 30 years. As his children were growing up he was actively involved in coaching and played an essential role in the rebuilding of the Jessie P. Sanford Boys & Girls Club in Redding.

He spent the majority of his career specializing in corporate security and fire alarm systems with ISS/UTC, and most recently, Advanced Electronic Systems in Brookfield.

He enjoyed being with his family, golfing, doing yard work, cooking, taking trips to the casino, and following the Yankees.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 4, at 11 am, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
