Augusto Saviano, 90, of Pietramelara Caserta, Italy, formerly of Bridgeport, died December 30. Mr Saviano was the beloved husband of Wanda Santagata Saviano.

His son Vincent and wife Carol of Sandy Hook, daughter Catherine Ziebell of Trumbull, five grandsons, his daughter-in-law Natalie Schlenk Saviano of Fairfield, and many nieces and nephews in Italy, who have been lovingly attending to him during his illness, survive him. His eldest son Anthony Saviano, his sister Ortenzia, and brothers Mario and Antonio of Italy predeceased Mr Saviano.

Mr Saviano and his wife immigrated to the United States in 1952, living and raising their family in Bridgeport.

He worked for the former Dictaphone Corporation as an electronic technician. He also worked for the former department store E.J. Korvettes as manager in the electronics department. He finished his career and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in 1986.

The Savianos retired to their hometown of Pietramelara, Italy, where they spent many years enjoying and traveling throughout Italy with family and friends.

In his retirement years, Mr Saviano was actively involved serving as a dDeacon of his church of San Rocco.

Funeral services are taking place in Pietramelara.
