Brookfield Town Seeking New Municipal HistorianÂ
BROOKFIELD â The Brookfield Museum & Historical Society will be interviewing candidates for the recently vacated position of Municipal Historian for the Town of Brookfield. Marilyn Whittlesey, who distinguished herself in the position for many years, has relocated to Maine.
The Municipal Historian is a non-paid position. Duties involve the dissemination of significant materials and information on the Townâs History according to the operational guidelines of the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society.
In addition, when the services of the Municipal Historian are requested, the individual holding this position will be required to make presentations, develop historical analysis and updates and provide other educational data as it relates to the History of Brookfield.   Â
As an official agent of the Selectmen, the Municipal Historian will provide information to town boards and agencies upon request, and prepare an annual report for the Selectman on the yearly activities.
As a member of the Board of Directors of the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society, the Municipal Historian will attend monthly Board meetings and submit a monthly report of activities.
Finally, the position of Town Historian also incorporates the shared duties of museum curator.
