Kindergarten Program At Flanders
Kindergarten Program At Flanders
WOODBURY â Beginning January 4, Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust will offer âMother Natureâs Classroom,â a monthly series of programs for kindergarten-age children to be given on Thursdays. The program offers a choice of either 9 to 11:30 am or 12:30 to 3 pm sessions.
The theme of the first of the winter series will be âJanu-Bearyâ in which children will learn about these omnivores and their habitats as they visit the bears of the world.
The program encourages a love and appreciation of nature through a variety of exploratory daily hikes and fun-filled activities centering on the natural beauty and abundance of Flandersâ fields, woods, ponds, and trails and their inhabitants. There is also an art activity designed to develop drawing and painting skills, games and a variety of craft projects.
Classes will be held January 4, 11, 18, and 25; space is limited to eight students. Fee for each four-week program is $75 for members and $100 for nonmembers.
Registration and advance payment by mail or in person are required. Registration forms are available online at FlandersNatureCenter.org, or at the Studio/Welcome Center/Office located at 5 Church Hill Road in Woodbury. For additional information, call 203-263-3711, extension 10.
