Michael Joseph Margait, 55, of Sandy Hook died suddenly on December 25, in Danbury Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Bridgeport, on September 22, 1961, a son of  Elizabeth (Kelly) Samu of Delray Beach, Fla.,and Rudy Margait of Palm Harbor, Fla.

Mr Margait grew up in Sandy Hook and graduated from Newtown High School and Southern Connecticut State University. For 28 years, he was a salesman for CDI Liquor Distributors of Stratford. He was an avid fan of the New York Jets.

In addition to his parents, his a daughter, Michelle Markham and her husband, Kyle, of Oceanside, Calif; his fiancée, Patty Hayes of Sandy Hook; his two brothers, Mark Margait and his wife, Diane, and Robert Margait, all of St Petersburg, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, on Friday, December 30, at 10:30 am.

There are no calling hours.
