Consider Helping
HuskyTHON
To the Editor:
As we look towards the new year, I hope you will consider helping out an important statewide philanthropic cause at the University of Connecticut. HuskyTHON, the premiere philanthropy event at the University of Connecticut, raises money for the Connecticut Childrenâs Medical Center and Childrenâs Miracle Network. This was founded by undergraduate students who had a desire to give back to the state they live in, and the children who need their help the most. Since its inception, HuskyTHON has changed significantly, and is the only event of its kind in the state. For 18 hours, UConn students stand on their feet, for the goal of raising funds for these children. Their small sacrifice has raised over $150,000 for CCMC! Last year, HuskyTHON raised a record-breaking $56,920 for the kids of CCMC. This year we are looking to be even more successful with help from the entire state of Connecticut, and especially with support from communities like Newtown where our citizens pride themselves on charitable giving and goodwill.
Please consider visiting www.huskython.uconn.edu to make donation in your familyâs name, to become a business sponsor, or to sponsor one of our almost 400 dancers. Or, we welcome you and your family to HuskyTHON 2009! The event is held the Hugh S. Greer Field House located at the UConn Storrs campus on February 21 beginning at 6 pm. Enjoy food, games, entertainment, and meet University of Connecticut President Mike Hogan as well as Husky star athletes. Thank you for your continued support and Happy New Year!
