John A. Saputo
John A. Saputo, 57, of 23 Indian Hill Lane, Sandy Hook, died December 21 at his home.
He was born in Bridgeport, March 18, 1943, son of the late August and Doris (Carbone) Saputo.
A resident of Sandy Hook for 40 years, Mr Saputo was employed at the Newtown Post Office as a clerk for 35 years.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the US Army. For many years he was a Little League coach in Newtown. He was the former owner of the Trinity Baseball Card Shop.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey of Palm Beach, Fla., and John of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Lori Rich of New Milford and Cindy Saputo of Danbury; one granddaughter, Tia Smith; one niece, Danielle Saputo; and one nephew, Joseph A. Saputo, Jr, both of Newtown. He is also survived by his former wife, Marie Saputo of Danbury.
A committal service was held at St Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook, on December 28.
Arrangements were by the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
