Yoga with Ricky Ayers: Ricky Ayersâ yoga class continues at the library on Thursdays from 4:45-6 pm in the new meeting room. Come join in some gentle stretching and relaxation exercises.
Internet Classes: Bob Brand will be conducting a beginning Internet class on Saturday, January 6, and an intermediate Internet class on Saturday, January 13. The topic will be Upgrading Software and Hardware. Class will begin at 10 am in the meeting room. Please register for these classes at the main circulation desk or by calling the library at 426-4533. There is a $10 registration fee for the intermediate class.
A New Mystery Book Discussion: Due to the popularity of the Fall Mystery Book Discussion the library will be hosting another mystery series starting in January. This time around we will be discussing âThe Landscape of the American Mystery.â Featured authors will be Carl Hiaasen, Lilian Jackson Braun, Tony Hillerman, and Marcia Talley, a relatively new mystery writer who will be joining us for the discussion of her first book. Dates and book titles for the series will be Sick Puppy by Carl Hiaasen on January 23, The Cat Who Sang for the Birds by Lilian Jackson Braun on February 13, Sing It to Her Bones by Marcia Talley on March 6, and a mystery by Tony Hillerman still to be determined on March 27. Join fellow mystery lovers for lively discussion and fellowship. Please sign up for the discussion by calling the library at 426-4533. The library will have a limited number of these titles available for participants to borrow. We are placing them in a special book discussion area so please ask for assistance if you are unable to locate them on the regular mystery shelves.
Warm Winter Foods: Nancy Crevier will be returning to the library on Friday, January 19, for a wonderful cooking class, âWinter Foods to Warm You Up.â The class will be held from 11 am to 1 pm in the meeting room of the library. The class is limited to 12 so sign up early at the circulation desk or by calling 426-4533. A $12 supply fee will be charged.
A Creative Sampling: Ginger Humeston will be leading a five part course on âGetting in Touch With your Creative Sideâ on Thursdays beginning in January at 9:30 am in the meeting room. Topics to be explored include poetry on January 18 with Liz Arneth; meditation and relaxation on January 25 with Rose Bergen; the creative energy of dreams with Anita Hall on February 1; art and your name as a line drawing with Judy Corrigan on February 8, and a book discussion led by Ginger Humeston on Gift From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh on February 15. Come find your creative voice through a great variety of artistic channels. Register in person at the library or by calling 426-4533. Come learn âHow to remain balanced, no matter what centrifugal forces tend to pull one off center; how to remain strong no matter what shocks come in at the periphery and tend to crack the hub of the wheel.â(Lindbergh)
 Monthly Book Discussion: The Booth Library book Group will be discussing Anita Shreveâs novel The Weight of Water on Thursday, January 18, at 7:30 pm in the Special Collections Room. Please join us for lively discussion. Newcomers are always welcome.
Family Counseling Center: The Family Counseling Center will be continuing its educational workshop series with a program on âSeasonal Depressionâ on Tuesday, January 16, at 7 pm.
